Two things that most people really don’t want to talk or think about most of the time.

Maybe you are pro-life, or maybe you are pro-choice, but I am going to take a wild guess and say that probably most of you would find certain circumstances,especially those involving rape, incest, or a women’s life being in danger, where abortion might be necessary or acceptable?

I know this is an effing awful subject, and I even have reservations about it…but I know that I believe in women having rights, and control over their reproductive health, and I CERTAINLY believe, that within circumstances like the ones above, women should be able to have a safe and legal abortion. So sue me.

LOOK, right now, as it stands, federal dollars can’t be used for abortion except in cases of rape, incest, or when the woman’s life is in danger.

But the Smith bill- This crazy fucking bill going around- would narrow that use to “cases of ‘forcible’ rape but not statutory or coerced rape.”

GEE, so now we are seriously RE-DEFINING RAPE? Forgive me for thinking that this is one of the biggest back-slides in women’s rights in a fucking lifetime.  THEY WANT TO MAKE IT SO THAT IT DOESN’T COUNT IF SHE WAS UNCONSCIOUS, OR OH, IT DOESN’T COUNT IF SHE DIDN’T FIGHT AND HAVE BRUISES! IT DOESN’T COUNT IF SHE KNEW THE GUY BEFOREHAND, IF IT WAS DATE RAPE…. WHAT. THE. FUCK. 

This is not okay. This is NOT freaking OKAY.

FURTHERMORE, there is now legislation being pushed that says A DOCTOR CAN NOW REFUSE TO PERFORM AN ABORTION TO SAVE A WOMAN’S LIFE… So, instead of saving someone’s life, you are going to let her and her unborn fetus die. That sounds logical…. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE WORLD? The really scary part is that there are probably a lot of doctors out there that would do this.

AS A WOMAN, I WOULD REALLY LIKE SOME RIGHTS TO MY BODY!! I WOULD REALLY  LIKE TO KNOW THAT THERE WERE SOME SIGNIFICANT DAMN RIGHTS FOR RAPE VICTIMS!!!! PLEASE AND THANK YOU!!!!

Jeez, I am SO MAD. I just do not understand the world. I know for damn sure that THIS is MY body. Personally, I could probably never have an abortion…but you know what? If I was ever raped, I would sure like to know that I could make my own choices in areas like that. The poisonous words that I am reading on these bills make me feel so violated.

I really just thought that anyone who didn’t already know something about this probably should. Go do some research.
